Community Health Nursing in Taiwan

Eligibility: Open to Nursing, BSN Completion, and BSN Second Degree majors who have completed all 300 level course work.

Program Overview
Gain valuable cross-cultural nursing experience in Taiwan as you complete your program clinical requirements. Taiwan's unique universal health care system will provide you with new perspectives and ideas about how community health works, as well as ideas for quality improvement research and collaboration in practice. This program will allow you to gain clinical experiences in government hospitals, home care, and the public health department. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in nursing activities in rural areas of Taiwan.

Program Highlights
  • Visit northern Taiwan cities to gain new perspectives on how community health works.
  • Explore the idea of universal health care that is used in Taiwan.
  • Complete your clinical requirements for NURS 451/483L4  (or NURS 451 / NURS 483L4)
Instructor Information
Professor Tsu Yin Wu, Ph.D. and Professor Marty Raymond, Ph.D. teach in Eastern Michigan University's School of Nursing and have taken EMU nursing students on this program in the past.
