Second World War: Italian Campaign

Eligibility: Open to all EMU students in good academic standing and guest students. Must be at least 18 years old at the time of travel.

Program Overview
Students will explore the conduct and consequences of the U.S. military effort in Italy during the Second World War.  Although a difficult campaign, the U.S. operation knocked Italy, a German ally, out of the war and diverted German resources away from other important Allied operations in the last two years of the war.

Instructor Information
Steven Ramold, Ph.D., a Professor in the History and Philosophy department, teaches a range of courses at EMU including U.S. Military History, History of World War II, History of American Sports, and the Civil War and Reconstruction. He has taken students on various study abroad and U.S. Travel courses including the Civil War Reconstruction tour and the Overlord: D-Day and Beyond program. Dr. Ramold was also recently voted Washtenaw County's best professor!

Mandatory Class meetings
This program has one mandatory class meeting prior to departure. Meeting date(s) will be determined and announced to students accepted into the program.
