Program Overview
EMU's exchange program with Korea University - Sejong Campus offers undergraduate students the opportunity to take classes for a semester or year alongside other international and Korean students. As an exchange student you can also participate in cultural activities on campus or join university clubs and circles.

Korea University offers students a broad range of courses in areas that include business, economics, global sport studies, public administration, science and technology. All exchange students are required to take a 3 credit Korean language and 3 credit Korean culture course. These courses satisfy two of EMU's General Education requirements: global awareness and humanities. All coursework may be applied to your academic major, minor or general education requirements with approval from the appropriate departments.

Financial Support

  • Airfare reimbursement (you will not be reimbursed until after your arrival in Korea)
  • Housing fees are waived
  • Meals during weekdays (breakfast and dinner at dormitory are included)

Housing and Meals
Korea University provides campus housing for exchange students in the Truth Hall residence. All housing fees are waived for EMU students. Two meals a day are also provided for exchange students.

Visa Requirements
Upon acceptance to the program Korea University will provide you with the materials necessary to apply and obtain a D-2 student visa. Be sure to review visa guidelines for studying in Korea before you apply. Be aware that you may be required to obtain your visa in-person from the nearest consulate (usually Chicago, IL).

Application and Advising Notes
Students are required to attend an advising session before applying to this program. This program requires a dual application process in which both EMU and Korea University must approve students to participate. You will receive notification to complete the Korea University application upon approval from EMU.
